Women in Educational Leadership (WEL) Symposium 2022 Fall: New Perspectives, New Beginnings
Facilitated by Dr. LaFaye Platter & Dr. Suzette Lovely
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. -Seneca
No one has felt the weight of the pandemic more than educators. While crises in schools may come and go, our charge is to find the silver lining within each period of recovery. To that end, the 2022 WEL Symposium is designed to help women leaders turn the upheaval into opportunities. Conversations will focus on ways to reset and rethink our work.
What should we dismantle? What do we want to rebuild? What gives us hope to cary on?
Living with greater coherence as school leaders will generate new perspectives and new beginnings.

Women in Educational Leadership (WEL) Symposium 2021 Fall
Facilitated by Dr. LaFaye Platter & Dr. Suzette Lovely
While both men and women benefit from having a network of well-connected peers, women who maintain an inner circle
of close contacts are more likely to advance their careers with greater ease (Harvard Business Review). To build a web of
allies who support our leadership progression, the WEL Network connects women from different districts and regions
who are invested in the success and accomplishments of other women. As we move toward a ‘better normal’, the 2021
Fall WEL Symposium will help female school leaders experience the power of the pack to learn, grow, and thrive together.
